Minnesota Røkkr kicked off Call of Duty League Super Week with a splash. Minnesota Røkkr and Seattle Surge were the last match on Tuesday, February 23. Dive into the map by map recap below.
Map 1: Checkmate – Hardpoint
Surge definitely “surged” before Røkkr found their sea legs, somewhere late into P1 and early P2 of the first rotation. Røkkr held as much as and 130 point lead before ultimately drowning the Surge out on Map 1, 250 to 163.
Map 2: Raid – Search and Destroy
Things started out similarly on Raid, where Seattle found a way to go up 2-0 with two quick slaying rounds. Minnesota battened down the hatches and took five of the next six, but Seattle clutched up rounds 9 and 10, including a R10 clutch defuse. Røkkr fans held their breath as the squad played out a textbook R11, slaying each Surge player en route to a Map 2 W.
Map 3: Raid – Control
PHEW. What an absolute battle for Map 3. Røkkr flipped the switch first this time, grinding out a 2-0 round lead. However, Surge swelled up, dug deep, and forced a round 5 showdown. Seattle treaded their Pacific coastal hearts out, but Røkkr found their way to shore for a 3-2 W in Control.
Minnesota Røkkr sweeps Seattle Surge 3-0.
