After a tense battle for qualifying points at the final regular season tournament of the year, Minnesota Røkkr clinched their spot at Call of Duty League Champs last weekend with a Top 3 finish at Major V.
Veteran superstar Dillon “Attach” Price returned to the team’s starting roster shortly before the event, helping Minnesota Røkkr emerge from the online qualifiers with a 3-2 record. This strong showing from the new lineup, which included a dominant win against longtime rivals Los Angeles Thieves, earned the team a spot in the Winners Bracket at Major V.
Minnesota Røkkr’s first series at the tournament was a rematch against Boston Breach, a team who had bested the previous iteration of the roster at the Home Series event in St. Paul earlier this month. Røkkr emerged victorious this time, and made short work of their next opponents, Florida Mutineers, cruising to a clean 3-0 series win and advancing to the Winners Finals on Championship Sunday.
At home in Minnesota, local fans gathered in force at Version1 HQ for a watch party hosted by the organization, making their support for the hometown team felt — and heard — with enthusiastic cheers.

Minnesota Røkkr took third place at Major V after being eliminated by the New York Subliners, the team that would ultimately win the entire tournament. At the start of the event, Røkkr’s spot at CDL Champs hung in the balance, but their impressive performance at Major V gave the team enough CDL points to qualify for the postseason and snatch the #6 seed from their competition in the process.
The 2023 CDL postseason takes place June 15-18 in Las Vegas, and Minnesota Røkkr will be competing for their share of a record-breaking $2.3 million dollar prize pool at this event. Minnesota Røkkr’s first game of the event — a rematch against the New York Subliners — is scheduled for June 15 at 2PM CDT.
