Minnesota Røkkr vs Los Angeles Thieves

Røkkr started off strong in the opening hardpoint, with Attach holding down P1 for his team. The early game was a close affair, with kills and hill time traded back and forth between the two teams. Standy’s 7-kill streak earned him a glide bomb, which helped Røkkr secure the rotation to P5 and gave them a significant lead going into the secodn set of rotations. Minnesota’s powerful hold on P1 denied Thieves the opportunity to threaten Røkkr’s lead. LAT took early control of P4, but Røkkr quickly found an opening and continued to extend their lead. Røkkr took control of the final P1 with an explosive push, allowing Minnesota to close out Map 1. The final score was 250-211 in favor of Røkkr.

Game 2

Map: Tuscan
Mode: Search & Destroy

The Thieves started Tuscan Search and Destroy on defense, and took the first round of the match. Røkkr quickly answered back after switching to defense, where Attach brought out the sniper to secure the round win.

LAT kept the game competitive, but a clean offensive win from Røkkr was followed up a flawless defensive round, giving the Minnesota team a 4-2 lead in the match. During these back-to-back round wins, Attach began a 7-kill streak, and Røkkr proceeded to dominate in the two rounds that followed. With a final 3 piece from Havok, Minnesota claimed a 6-2 win on Map 2.

Game 3

Map: Berlin
Mode: Control

Røkkr started off strong on offense, quickly gathering two ticks on B before fully capping A. Despite the early success, the round came down to lives, and in a tense final 1v1, LA came out on top. Priestahh started off Røkkr’s defensive round with a 7-kill streak, earning a glide bomb. The second round came down to lives again, but this one went in favor of Minnesota, who tied up the game 1-1. On Røkkr’s second offensive round, Attach continued to thwart LAT’s plans with a 5 piece that cleared Røkkr’s opponents off of B, but an aggressive spawn trap from LAT granted the Los Angeles team a 2-1 lead in the match.

Røkkr heroically defended B point in their second round on defense, sending the map to a Round 5 decider. On offense for match and series point, Røkkr swiftly went to work capturing the A point, and Attach quickly maneuvered to B, earning Minnesota a first tick on the point. In a nail-biting final sequence with both teams on their final set of lives, Minnesota cleared LAT off the point and closed out the match.

The final match score was 3-2 in favor of Røkkr, and a win on Map 3 secured Minnesota their second consecutive 3-0 series win in the Major III Qualifiers.
