Version1 vs Luminosity

Map 1 – Bind

Luminosity opened up the map with a strong pistol round against Version1. After another flawless round from LG, Version1 answered back with two defensive round wins to tie the score at 2-2. Luminosity regained their lead, but Zellsis clutched a 2v1 and defused the Spike with 0.04 seconds to spare, giving V1 another round win.

Penny followed that up with four kills, helping V1 tie the score again at 4-4.

LG took two more offensive rounds but Wardell secured another round for V1. Luminosity took the last round on offense, and Version1 headed into the second half down 5-7. The second pistol round of the match went in favor of V1. LG proved strong on defense and quickly took an 11-6 lead. Version1 persevered, but Luminosity were able to close out the map 13-7.

Map 2 – Ascent

Version1 narrowly lost the opening pistol round, and LG took the first two rounds of Map 2. Zellsis turned the tides for Version1 in Round 3, getting multiple heroic kills to secure the round for his team. V1 continued to assert their offensive dominance, and claimed two more round wins. LG answered back with two retakes on defense. Version1 took back the lead with three strong rounds of their own, the last of which was flawless. Luminosity were able to close out the final two rounds, sending themselves and Version1 into the second half all tied up at 6-6. Version1 secured the second pistol round and converted the following round, giving them an early lead on defense. Despite some clutch plays from LG, V1’s defensive prowess continued to win them rounds. Late in the second half, Version1 skillfully navigated a chaotic round to prevent the spike plant, putting them on match point. With a flawless round win, Version1 secured map two and tied the series. The final score was 13-10.

Map 3 – Breeze

A chaotic opening pistol round went in favor of Version1. Early rounds were traded back and forth, leaving the game tied 3-3. The game remained close as the beginning of the first half played out, but LG were able to take the slight lead with two solid defenses putting them ahead 6-4. The final two rounds of the half went to Luminosity, giving them an 8-4 lead over Version1 going into the second half. With V1 now on defense, the second pistol round went to Luminosity. V1 continued to show dominance on defense, slowly closing the gap on LG. A triple kill from Zander and a clutch from Zellsis put V1 within a round of Luminosity. Strong teamwork from Version1 tied the game up 10-10 late in the second half. LG answered back, taking a thrifty round to regain the lead, and capitalizing on the momentum to reach match point. Although Version1 rallied, a clutch round from Luminosity gave them the series win. The final score was 13-11 in favor of LG.
