Version1 vs Sentinels

North American Champions Tour – Challengers: Version1 vs Sentinels

Map 1 – Haven

Version1 had a magnificent start to map 1, they won both pistol rounds and things were looking great. Sentinels start to heat up, as TenZ started to kill every Version1 player in sight. Sentinels take the lead and are now winning 7-4. Zander was in a 1v1 against TenZ and unfortunately can’t get the kill, the score is 8-4 at the half. TenZ the “Terror” continues to reign havoc in the first pistol round of the second half, as he picked up an impressive 4k. The 8-4 lead for Sentinels quickly turned into a 10-4 lead and Version1 was struggling to win rounds. The slaying power from Sentinels was unmanageable for Version1 and Sentinels ended up taking the map 1 win, 13-7.

Map 2 – Ascent

As we headed into map 2 Version1 again, started well winning back-to-back pistol rounds. History does not seem to be repeating itself because instead of slowing down and losing steam and rounds Version1 put the pedal to the metal and go up 5-0. Version1 knows that whoever loses this series is out of the tournament and they are playing as their lives depend on this win. TenZ was playing on a level that cannot be comprehended by the average Valorant player. He is single handily keeping Sentinels in the game. Sentinels take the lead for the first time all game, but it is short-lived as Version1 turns 6 rounds into 9 and then 9 rounds into 13. Version1 win map 2, 13-9.

Map 3 – Fracture
This was the third and final map in the series. The winner moves on, loser goes home. As we saw in the 2 maps before this one, Version1 is insanely strong on pistol round. There win round 1 but TenZ sneaks in with an Ace, securing the second pistol round for Sentinels. Sentinels seemed to be on the same page, as they increase their lead 3-1. Version1 tied up the game 6-6 at the half and win the first pistol round in the second half. Effy’s was left in a 2v1 situation in the second pistol round, and he had ice in his veins, as he clutches the round and defuses the bomb. Version1 was 3 rounds away from winning the series when the Sentinels began to mount the comeback. Sentinels now trailing by 1 round Version1 was feeling the pressure. This Version1 squad is no stranger to pressure as they knocked out the powerhouse team, Sentinels in a 13-8 victory.
