Call of Duty League Stage 2

The GreenWall tears taste sweeter than ever. Coming into the match as heavy underdogs, Røkkr not only beat OpTic Chicago, they 3-0’d them. All on Raid for style points as well. So far in the season Raid has been OpTic’s playground; 3-0 on HP, 16-1 in Checkmate and Raid respawns. OpTic also came into this match with an impressive 9-1 record in Control.

After the roster move to bring in Standy, there were plenty of critics. But the story of the game at the end of it all was Standy Standy Standy. The rookie went 64-42 throughout the entire match, leading the match in K/D.

MAP 1 – Raid Hardpoint

Immediately off the rip, you could tell this was a new ROKKR squad. The slaying power was there, the rotations were there, you could tell in this map especially Priestahh was much more comfortable in his new role as second AR. Everyone absolutely popped off. Accuracy went 23/16, Attach finished at 15/12, Priestahh went 19/10, and Standy the Mandy went 23/13 in his first map in the league. Røkkr100 point clubbed OpTic, 250-81.

MAP 2 – Raid Search and Destroy

While the Hardpoint was a major blowout, the Search and Destroy was certainly not. OpTic ripped off the first 2 rounds, but Røkkr answered to tie the game at 2. OpTic once again rolled for two rounds, taking the score to 4-2. But in what has been a consistent theme throughout the year for Røkkr in search, the mid-game adjustments came through again. Røkkr took four straight rounds to end the game, winning the map 6-4. Standy was again the Standout, finishing the game at 13/4.

MAP 3 – Raid Control

Through the first half of this map, everything was going as expected. OpTic won defense. Røkkr won defense. But round 3 was where everything changed. After capturing A, Røkkr needed to break that pesky B zone and they had a 2 life advantage to do it. Røkkr got 3 down with 13 lives to go for each team, which opened up the opportunity to stack and capture an offensive round. Røkkr went on to finish the sweep in a classic defensive hold in Control. This map was the Attach show, going 27/20, leading the team.

Røkkr will take on Dallas Empire in a revenge game for Dallas on Sunday, March 28 to keep the winners bracket hopes alive.
