A brand new Røkkr roster faced Optic Chicago in their first match of the Stage 4 Chicago Home Series and unfortunately, they couldn’t finish with the win.
Map 1: Moscow Hardpoint
Map one started off strong for Optic. They were holding the lead the entire match and were simply winning more gunfights than Røkkr. Envoy was on an eight kill streak early in the match and Optic’s momentum seemed unstoppable. Røkkr was closing in on the gap, creeping up to 238 with Optic at 247, but it wasn’t enough. Optic won 250-238. Formal finished 30/24 with 6314 damage. MajorManiak finished 24/25 on his first match back on the roster.
Map 2: Standoff Search and Destroy
Røkkr won round one with ease after a flank from MajorManiak. Round two went to Minnesota after Standy clutched up in a 1v2 situation and successfully defused the bomb in time. Optic responded and thanks to Envoy’s three kills with only a pistol, they took round three. Optic went on to tie the match up after winning round four. Scump pulled off a ninja defuse to win round five and after 2 more round wins for Optic, they won the match 6-2.
Map 3: Raid Control
Røkkr had their backs against the wall and had no choice but to win this map. After a long first round, Røkkr came close to a win but Optic managed to hold point B until time ran out. Envoy had a dominating performance in round 2 and even got a seven kill streak, resulting in a win. This type of gunplay led to a third and final round win for Optic. Optic’s Envoy finished at 24/11.
