Minnesota R­økkr ends Dallas Home Series with loss to Dallas Empire

The Minnesota R­økkr were on a mission to close out the Dallas Home Series against Dallas Empire to secure a spot in the Winners Bracket but they couldn’t get the outcome they wanted. Great collective efforts from Dallas prevailed and it defeated R­økkr 3-1. This automatically puts Minnesota into round two of the lower bracket and will play the winner of Paris Legion and London Royal Ravens.

Map 1: Moscow Hardpoint

The match started off promising. R­økkr held a 20+ lead from P1 to P2 and Standy managed to secure hills to extend their lead 64-23. Priestahh carried momentum from an outstanding performance against LAG to keep the team afloat. After time, Empire took the lead and were dominating in their gun fights. R­økkr tried to fight their way into gaining control of the last hardpoints, but they came up short. Dallas secured the win 250-232. Empire’s iLLeY went on an eight kill streak and finished the match 28/23 with almost 5000 damage.

Map 2: Miami Search and Destroy

This game of Search and Destroy was no walk in the park. Empire’s FeLO managed to get an ace first round, which set the tone for the rest of the match. Priestahh responded aggressively and grabbed the win for the second round. Round 3 was executed flawlessly by Dallas and then the script flipped as Attach managed to get a solo defuse to win round 4. After trading rounds, Dallas pulled ahead and won 6-4. FeLO and Shotzzy both went 11/6 and were definitely key to the win.

Map 3: Raid Control

Minnesota opened with a successful push to the A point but the battle for B point wasn’t as easy. Dallas held point B and were aggressive while defending. Round one went to Dallas. With the help of C6’s scorestreaks, R­økkr was picked off one by one and were now down 2-0. R­økkr remained calm and claimed victory in rounds 3 and 4. Priestahh made huge plays and went on a 7 kill streak, ultimately forcing the game to a round 5. Accuracy finished with over 7000 damage and Priestahh went 30/21.

Map 4: Apocalypse Hardpoint

Dallas started Map 4 ready to finish what they started. C6 and Shotzzy started off hot and had five kill streaks, ending P1 at  73-30. The entire match consisted of grueling gun fights. The score remained close for the majority of the match but in the end, Empire always kept their lead. Dallas Empire secured the win.
