Minnesota R­økkr goes the distance against LA Thieves, wins 3-2

The Minnesota R­økkr faced a new LA Thieves after their roster change in the LA Thieves Home Series and both teams went the distance. Fortunately, R­økkr came out on top, winning 3-2. This win secures spot in the Winner’s Bracket.

Map 1: Garrison Hardpoint

The score remained even for the majority of the game. After a couple of rotations, R­økkr pulled ahead and remained at a distance that LA couldn’t close in on. Minnesota closed it out with a 250-190 win. Standy finished 28/24 and 1:34 hill time and had a 7 kill spree.

LA Thieve’s Kenny went 30/20 and had over 5000 damage.

Map 2: Standoff Search and Destroy

LA Thieves flawlessly started off Map 2. Huke managed to get an ace with ease in round 1 and carried that momentum into round 2, racking up an 8 kill streak.

LA was up 4-0 before R­økkr put themselves on the scoreboard. The Thieves closed it out for a 6-1 win. Huke finished at 11/3.

Map 3: Garrison Control

Map 3 opened with both teams trading wins on their defensive rounds. LA took round 3 after great defensive plays and R­økkr won round 4 by doing the same. With the game tied up, round 5 was intense and every kill was calculated. R­økkr captured point B then duked it out to capture point A. Rokkr came out on top, winning 3-2.

Map 4: Moscow Hardpoint

The LA Thieves had a dominating performance on Map 4. LA had a 100+ point lead for most of the match and found a way to beat R­økkr on every rotation. R­økkr struggled to find a way around LA’s game and fell short. The Thieves stole this W, finishing 250-59. 

LA’s Slasher went 23/8 and had 1:47 hill time.

Map 5: Miami Search and Destroy

The pressure was on for both teams on Map 5. The LA Thieves were up 2-0 after the first two rounds. In round 3, Standy almost got an ace but his 3 kills helped R­økkr secure a win. Minnesota also took round 4 with ease. A great performance by MajorManiak led R­økkr to a round 5 win. R­økkr’s 4 round win streak was cut after LA Thieves responded aggressively and grabbed a round. After all of the back and forth gameplay, it all came down to round 11. Minnesota had LA right where they wanted and picked them off one by one. R­økkr closed out the match 6-5. Standy went 11/9 and MajorManiak’s highest streak was 5 kills.
