Version1 returns to RLCS X The Grid

RLCS X The Grid is back in action this week! Things were off to a wild start in the first match against the Pittsburg Knights, a team whose armor proved hard to puncture.

Game-by-Game Highlights of Match Against Pittsburg Knights

Game 1: Comm scored the first goal off a rebound at 4:16 but a double touch from ZPS at 2:41 tied things up. Torment answered with an amazing flick move on the breakaway and used the touch to hit the ball in the top right of the net, giving Version1 the lead.  Another goal scored with seconds left and the game goes to Version1, 3-1.

Game 2: Gimmick’s attempt to make a save turned into an own goal to start things off. Version1 shook off the bad luck and tried to get back into it. Sosa scored a flying goal with 2:50 and Pittsburg went up, 2-0.  A great pass from Comm to Gimmick off the side wall resulted in Gimmick’s first goal of the day.  Version1 tied the game up 2-2 following a flurry of shots on net with just :15 seconds left in regulation. Radoko answered immediately, scoring the game winner for the Pittsburg Knights with :09 left to play. Pittsburg Knights win 3-2 and even up the series.

Game 3: Both squads come out determined to take the game, resulting in no goals until 3 minutes to play. Despite keeping the pressure on to control the flow, Version1 still hadn’t scored with 30 seconds left. The game ended in a tie and went to overtime! Gimmick scored the only goal of the match at +1:44 in overtime. Version1 wins 1-0.

Game 4: Another back and forth match and a repeat of a scoreless game with 3 minutes left. Version1 finds the net with seconds left using brute force to get the ball into the goal.  Version1 wins Game 4 and the overall Match 3 games to Pittsburgh’s 1.
