Version1 vs XSET

Match 1 – V1 versus XSETVersion1 continued its momentum from Monday in its first match-up today. They handed XSET their first loss of The Grid play so far. Gimmick had a strong match, scoring three and with two assists on the net.

Game 1 – Version1 put the pressure on early and had a chance on goal that XSET knocked away. Just over one minute in, Gimmick scored on a wide-open goal. Hockser answered for XSET about 30 seconds later with a high ball. Later in the game, V1 missed two opportunities to score as the ball came across the net. V1 held on and got lucky as one near-goal bounce off the crossbar and away to safety. Comm put the icing on the cake with 9 seconds left and V1 takes game 1, 2-1.

Game 2 – Version1 kept the pressure on and Comms scored first at 4:09. Gimmick, heating up, made that goal possible by coming in a sweeping Jwowaway from in front of the net. Torment scored goal #2 for V1, as Gimmick used a body play to clear the net. Alphakep answered with a goal for XSET with 2:40 left to play. A save from Torment in the final minute gave V1 the game, 2-1.

Game 3- By the time game 3 started, it was clear that this match-up was the Gimmick show. He scored first on an acceleration that started midfield. Gimmick got his second goal with 44 seconds remaining. Version1 shuts out XSET in game 3 and wins the match in a 3 match sweep.
