V1 v Alpine

Match 2 featured a northern tilt as V1 square up against Alpine Esports, also headquartered in Minnesota: the True North.

Game 1: Majicbear scored 16 seconds into game one setting V1 back off the bat. Two minutes later, Gimmick, rocking the Fennec, centered a difficult ball and Comm was able to shoot to score, tying the game up. Alpine’s Percy scored an impressive backboard goal with almost zero angle, leading to a wild final minute, including a goal from Gimmick with 38 seconds left. A late goal from Alpine secured the win. V1 falls in game 1, 2-3.

Game 2: Game 2 started much slower compared to the tempo of today’s match-ups overall. The first goal from Gimmick found the net about 90 secs in. Alpine tied it up shortly after. After lots of back and forth, some demoes and a few quick passes, Gimmick put one in to give V1 the 2-1 win, tying it up at one game each.Game 3:At this point, Gimmick is having a great day. He took his turn to score early, just 15 seconds in. Unfortunately, Alpine answered by putting two home and never looked back. V1 loses, 1 – 2.

Game 4: Alpine kept the pressure on and went up two goals. But when all felt lost after a lackluster few plays, the final minutes were absolutely dominated by V1, specifically Gimmick, who scored a hat trick and led the Version1 roster to the game 4 dub: 3-2.

Game 5: The momentum continued for V1 and they found themselves with a first minute lead. Par for the course, Alpine scored seconds later. With 2:53 remaining, Torment added his name to the “goals scored” column putting V1 up, 2-1. Comm added on with a bouncing dagger! V1 secured the game win 3-1 and the match win, 3-2 games against Alpine.
