V1 v NRG

Day 4 of The Grid brought to Version1 a match up against the steadfast leader of the group, NRG.

Game 1: 0 – 3 On the heels of kick off, NRG scored the first goal. But Torment quickly followed up with a perfectly placed left post shot, sneaking it right past Squishy into net. With a little less than two minutes left, Comm creeped across the middle to redirect one to the far right post this time, giving V1 the 2-1 lead with 2 minutes to go. NRG didn’t back down and less than 20 seconds later, Squishy tied it up 2-2 before time ran out following an unbelievable last second goal from justin. V1 lost, 2-3.

Game 2: 1 – 3 We did our best to regain in match 2 with a clean goal from Gimmick after two minutes of back and forth play. NRG answered by burying three straight to go up 3-1. V1 wasn’t able to overcome the deficit in game two and lost, 1 – 3.

Game 3: 1 – 3 V1 moved into game 3 needing a reverse sweep. Under the lights of DFH Stadium, Version1 once again found a way to score first. And once again, it was short lived as NRG leveled things with a rebuttal goal, tying it 1-1. Shortly after, justin put two more home to quickly dash our first match hopes. We lose game 3, 1-3.  Match 1 is a sweep for the other guys. GG NRG.
