Version1 vs Charlotte Phoenix
RLCS Spring Split: The Grid Day 5
Version1 started off Day 5 of The Grid against Charlotte Phoenix.
Game 1: 0-1 There were only 23 seconds left on the clock when Beastaboniam scored the one and only goal in the first game of the day. We had some great chances throughout the remainder of regulation, including an impressive passing play involving every V1 player, but we never found the net ourselves.
Game 2: 2-1 It seemed to be a lot of the same in game two, without any goals or significant changes through a solid three minutes of play. Gimmick had enough of that though, scoring on an amazing double touch goal off of a waterfall shot down the back wall. CLT kept consistent with their style of scoring, as they found a late one from Andy that sent things to OT. Comm ended it a mere six seconds later to give V1 the win.
Game 3: 1-2 Well, things started differently here, as CLT scored less than thirty seconds into the third bout of match one. CLT kept up the pressure and used demos the best they could, but thanks to an impressive corner shot from Torment V1 knotted it up at one a piece. Delta responded quickly for CLT to make it 1-2. It felt like V1 would get one, but after several shots and lots of pressure, never did.
Game 4: 0-3 Things started out back and forth once again, just as all the previous matches had, and it took over three minutes for anyone to score. Charlotte found two goals right around the two minute mark, then another one to rub it in shortly after. We did our best but just couldn’t make it happen.
Version1 lose to Charlotte Phoenix 1-3.
