Version1 vs NRG

Map 1 – Fracture

Version1 started off strong with a decisive opening pistol round win, and took the second round as well, taking an early lead. Although NRG were able to gain a round, an explosive play from effys gave Version1 a flawless round win to maintain their lead.

Version1 continued to assert their defensive dominance, quickly pulling ahead with a 6-1 lead. NRG clutched a second round, and claimed two more consecutive round wins as well. Version1 switched sides with a 7-5 lead. Version1 took the second pistol round of the match in the second half. As the game continued, NRG slowly chipped away at V1’s lead with several close round victoriess, eventually tying up the game at 10-10. After a 2v1 from effys, NRG quickly and brought the score to 1-1. Despite an impressive effort from V1, two strong defensive rounds from NRG ended the match. The final score was 13-11 in favor of NRG.

Map 2 – Icebox

Map two was a must-win for Version1, and Zander started the map off with a solid triple kill that helped V1 claim the opening pistol round. V1’s momentum continued in the next three rounds, but NRG were able to finally respond with a win of their own in Round 5. After NRG tied the game up 4-4, V1 only failed to crack NRG’s defense once before the end of the first half.

Version1 had a 7-5 lead as they swapped to defense, and took their fourth pistol round win of the series. NRG’s offense was strong, and a chaotic string of rounds allowed NRG to tie the score at 8-8. V1 and NRG traded rounds back and forth, but a clean string of wins allowed NRG to move on to match point. V1 rallied, but a flawless last round from NRG ended the second map with a final score of 13-11 in NRG’s favor.
