RLCS 2022-23 Fall Invitational - Swiss Round 5: V1RL vs OpTic Gaming

Game 1

V1 quickly set up an open net for BeastMode, who tapped it in to find the opening goal against OpTic. After a fierce battle on Version1’s side of the field, OpTic tied the match at 1-1. With 5 seconds left and overtime likely, BeastMode scored a late goal to secure a Game 1 victory for V1.

Game 2

Version1 came in hot, scoring the opening goal of the second game. However, MajicBear immediately responds yet again to tie it. OpTic pulled ahead after a second goal from AyyJayy gave them the lead. A close shot hit off the crossbar, and Torment was there to clean it up and bring the game to overtime. 90 seconds is all BeastMode needed to score and give Version1 a 2-1 win in Game 2.

Game 3

OpTic wouldn’t go down without a fight, and the score was locked at 1-1 30 seconds in after a pair of goals from Comm and Retals. BeastMode took over, giving V1 the lead in the series. Exceptional defense from Version1 left OpTic scoreless, and Version1 took the series and game victory after a final goal coming in from BeastMode set them up to end the game in V1’s favor 3 – 1.
