RLCSX Spring Split Regional 3 Day 2

Version1 had their chances in the winner’s bracket matchup against NRG. Despite fighting to a 2-1 series lead, V1 couldn’t secure the victory and faltered in the final 30 seconds of the decisive Game 5. NRG wins the series 3-2.

Game 1 (1-2)

NRG opened the scoring at 4:09 when Justin broke up the Version1 breakout, stealing the ball from Gimmick and then feeding Garrett who put it in the back of the net. Comm tied it up for V1 with 1:15 remaining, but Justin sealed with a win for NRG with a goal just 18 seconds later.

Game 2 (2-0)

After nearly two scoreless minutes Comm capitalized on an NRG double commit at 3:07 and added another 32 seconds later. Strong defense throughout the game secured the shutout 2-0 win for V1. 

Game 3 (4-2)

It only took 32 seconds for Torment to put V1 up 2-0, and he would later put in his third goal for the hat trick in leading V1 to the 4-2 win. NRG kept it interesting with two goals, but the result was never truly in doubt.

Game 4 (0-3)

With their backs against the wall, NRG came to life. Justin scored in the first minute and added the icing on a kickoff goal at 1:44 as NRG cruised to the 3-0 win.

Game 5 (0-1)

The deciding Game 5 was as close as they come. Both teams had scoring changed but were locked in a scoreless tie in the final minute. With 27 seconds remaining Gimmick was caught in an awkward position and Justin put in the series winner for NRG.
