Minnesota Røkkr vs New York Subliners

Røkkr split equal time with New York on the opening hardpoint, but won the spawns for P2, giving Minnesota the early lead. The Subliners answered with a strong hold on the third hill, leading to a rotational battle for the advantage at P4. With traded hill time on the final points of the first set of rotations, the game remained almost dead even with a 94-93 scoreline going back into P1. The game remained close, but the Subliners were able to take the lead after a strong P2 and P3 hold. Despite Røkkr’s continuous efforts, the Subliners maintained their lead and were able to close out the first map, 250-166.

The opening rounds of the Search and Destroy narrowly went in favor of the Subliners, but Røkkr returned the favor with a successful attacking round of their own. However, New York continued to advance and moved to a 4-1 lead. Minnesota fought back with a flawless defense in Round 6, but the Subliners were able to put together the final two rounds they needed and claim the Game 2 win, 6-2.

Game 3

Røkkr started out the Control on defense, prioritizing their setup at the A point and allowing New York to secure B. After clearing the first wave, Minnesota were able to set the spawn trap, keeping the Subliners out of the point and bleeding out the rest of their lives to take the opening round. On the attack, Røkkr were quickly trapped but fought out towards the A point, capturing a single tick before being overtaken by the defense. As defense remained dominant, the Subliners took the second round and the teams transitioned to Round 3. Back on defense, Røkkr forfeited the B point to New York but maintained the A point to take a 2-1 lead. Minnesota were more successful in their second attack, securing the A point with plenty of time to transition to B. However the defense remained solid, and the game was sent to a Round 5. Needing an offensive victory to stay alive, Minnesota came out swinging with a swift B point capture led by Bance. Røkkr had a perfect transition to A, securing 2 segments and bleeding New York’s life count. However, the Subliners were able to reinstate the spawn trap and run out the clock to take the defensive Round 5 victory, 3-2. Minnesota Røkkr fell to the Subliners 0-3 and will continue their Major 1 journey tomorrow in the final elimination round of group play.
