LAN is back: Minnesota Røkkr sweeps New York Subliners 3-0
Minnesota Røkkr faced the New York Subliners at the first LAN Major Tournament of the season and it couldn’t have turned out any more perfect for Røkkr. In just three maps, Røkkr took the W and will now face Atlanta Faze in the second round.
Map 1: Garrison Hardpoint
Things were looking good for NYSL; they were winning by more than 50 points after a couple of rotations. Røkkr was getting stuck in spawn traps, having unsuccessful hill pushes and things were not looking good. Something clicked and Røkkr closed the gap and took the lead towards the end of the match. Minnesota won 250-196, breaking their three hardpoint losing streak.
Map 2: Raid Search and Destroy
Map 2 was a flawless victory for Røkkr. Priestahh kicked the map off to a good start with a first blood and 3 kills, resulting in a quick round win. Røkkr carried that momentum and won the next two rounds with ease. Standy pulled off a 1v3 to win round 4 and the next two rounds were won just as easy. Priestahh was definitely a key player in this win. He went 11/1 racked up a 7 kill streak.
Map 3: Garrison Control
Both teams won their first defensive rounds, leaving the match tied 1-1. Round 2 went to Rokkr after successfully capturing both point A and B. The next round, Røkkr held their ground on defense and NYSL couldn’t manage to grab a point before the time ran out. Minnesota Røkkr won 3-1. Standy went 24/17 and had over 4000 damage.
