Reimagining opportunity.

As organizations grow and scale, it’s understandable that some roles require specific sets of skills and experiences. These skills and experiences help organizations build infrastructure, increase revenue, and provide more opportunities to add staff. Often this requires industry experience. Historically, if one doesn’t have industry experience, it would be obtained via an internship. But, we needed a new answer and it was simple.

As an organization, Version1 wants to reimagine hiring and workplace practices in ways that provide and advance equitable access to opportunities in esports. We recognize that we have an important role to play by strengthening our diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility efforts in our workplace and the industry.

Born from this commitment, we designed a program that would offer unique opportunities for talented professionals, especially those from historically excluded groups, to gain access to the esports industry by supplementing our team of professionals during watch parties, tournaments, game days, and other events throughout the year. By working a few hours during events throughout the year, you supplement your resume with industry experience and we benefit from passionate and talented professionals who – like us – want to #PlayAsOne.

V1BE Squad positions are contracted hourly match day and event-centric roles for individuals to apply their skills and talents to build a career in esports.

  • These positions are hourly, match day and event-centric roles
  • Squad member roles are contract-based (1099)
  • Squad members will all be paid $15/hour
  • Squad members will be paid using Square and direct deposit
  • Version1 payroll closes on the 15th and the last day of each month, with deposits 5 to 7 business days following the close of the payroll period.
  • Squad members will track hours utilizing Version1’s time tracking tool and submit their hours at the end of each shift
  • Squad members are expected to be available to work a minimum of 75% of the requested match/game day scheduled
  • Squad members are expected to provide any equipment that is necessary to successfully complete their work
  • Version1 will provide any necessary temporary log-in credentials/network access
  • Squad members will be provided necessary training needed to be successful in their roles
