Minnesota Røkkr vs Dallas Empire

CDL Championship Weekend: Minnesota R­økkr falls to Dallas Empire in 0-3 loss. 

Minnesota just couldn’t find their groove and faced a heartbreaking loss to Dallas Empire on Day 1 of Championship Weekend. 

R­økkr will now face LA Thieves in Elimination Round 1. 

Map 1: Moscow Hardpoint

This hardpoint didn’t start off too well for Minnesota. There were tough gun fights that just seemed unwinnable. Dallas was consistently pulling ahead. R­økkr were trying to close the lead gap but couldn’t get there. In the end, Dallas won 250-147. Empire’s Shotzzy and Vivid managed to get a 5 kill streak during the match. 

R­økkr’s stats were solid but not good enough for a win.

Map 2: Raid Search and Destroy

Rounds were traded in the beginning and the match was tied 1-1. Empire’s Shotzzy made a big play to close out round 3, putting them up 2-1. That round was the beginning of a R­økkr fan’s biggest nightmare. Minnesota couldn’t find their footing on defense or offense. To keep it short and less painful for us all, Dallas went on to win 4 straight rounds and won the match 6-1. 

Map 3: Raid Control

This was Minnesota’s last and only opportunity to pull off the reverse sweep. R­økkr started off great and won their attacking round. Dallas came back and won on their offensive round as well. Round 3 ended with Dallas picking off all R­økkr lives. Minnesota HAD to win this next round to stay in the game. Unfortunately, Dallas managed to capture both points and closed it out. Final score: 3-1. Empire’s Illey had a 5 kill streak and Vivid had a 6 kill streak.
