RLCSX NA Spring Regional Day 0

On Day 0 of the RLCSX NA Spring Regional we had Spacestation Gaming and Charlotte Phoenix on the docket. Let’s see how the matches played out!

Game 1: 1 – 0

The five game series kicked off with an absolute back and forth grind that would be indicative of the games to come. Things stayed close for a while, but Comm got V1 on the board with the one and only goal before time ran out.

Game 2: 1 – 4

The second game, SSG found a rhythm and pressured us from goal line to goal line. Retals and Arsenal found our net, with Sypical burying two as well. SSG dominated Game 2, scoring quickly and scoring often en route to a 4 – 1 W.

Game 3: 0 – 1

Retals continued his high level play, scoring within the first 30 seconds. Though there was plenty of back and forth, Version1 couldn’t find a way to level things out and we ultimately lost Game 3.

Game 4: 1 – 0

The battle of the back and forth raged on and was an absolute stalemate throughout. Gimmick was the only one to cash in, with a beautiful redirect that took V1 to a 1 – 0 win in Game 4.

Game 5: 3 – 2

SSG scored 15 seconds in and 53 seconds in, taking a quick 2-0 lead. With just over two minutes left, Gimmick found a way to clean up a poor clear that brought V1 within one. As the clock wound down, V1 stormed the net, burying a last second goal to force OT. As OT began, the back and forth battle continued before Gimmick found a way (upside down at +2:05) to drive the series win!
