Version1 falls to T1 at VCT Stage 3 NA Challengers Main Event

They said that there could only be one. V1 fans have awaited this match to see the return of Zellsis and a great matchup against T1. The match went the distance and V1 gave everything they had. Unfortunately, they came short in a close nail biting series. Though, this isn’t the end, V1 will now face the loser of Faze Clan vs Rise in the lower bracket.

Map 1: Haven

This map took V1 fans on a rollercoaster of emotions. V1 was having issues holding off on post plants and as a result, T1 ended up easily taking the first 6 rounds. Things were looking grim but V1 finally got on the board. Their win streak was short-lived and T1 won rounds eight and nine. V1 managed to grab two rounds before the switch but they had a long road to get back into the game. After the break, V1 picked up the pace and scored 6 consecutive defensive rounds, tying up the match 9-9. After that, the teams traded round after round and ended up in a close race to the finish line. T1 pulled ahead and unfortunately won 13-10.

Map 2: Icebox

The pace for this map was quite the opposite from map 2. The score was seesawing back and forth from the very start of the match—1-1, 3-3, 5-5—it never ended! Things started to change and V1 went on a streak, pulling ahead and making the score 12-6. T1 took a much needed timeout and recharged. They went on to win two more rounds putting the score at 12-8. T1 efforts to catch up weren’t enough. V1 took the W at 13-8. Zellsis finished with 20 kills and a 2.1 KDA.

Map 3: Split

Things started off all wrong for V1 in map three. Things were going rough and T1 was on a roll. The score was 1-8 and T1 curry went 13-2 by round 10. As time went on, V1’s hopes of winning didn’t look so good. By round 13, the score was 10-3. Effys got an ace during round 14 and that put some hope in V1 fan’s hearts. V1 got a burst of energy and confidence and went on a 5 round win streak. That was halted after T1 clutched up and won a round. Now 11-8, V1 had no room to make mistakes. Things got close in the end, but not close enough. T1 ultimately won 13-9.
